Kamodo Chair

Overview

The Kamado Chair draws inspiration from traditional Japanese clay ovens, embodying minimalist Japanese aesthetics in a lounge chair crafted from lightweight fiber concrete. Named after the "place for the cauldron," the chair's design echoes ancient ovens' asymmetrical form and ground-level structure, with front legs inspired by the air openings that gave these ovens their distinctive appearance. A single armrest adds to its unique form while enhancing comfort, creating a relaxed seating experience. Each chair is hand-painted for a textured, one-of-a-kind surface, balancing sharp architectural lines with a touch of Japanese elegance. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl, the Kamado Chair is a sculptural statement piece with inviting comfort.
